Relationships matter. No matter the side of the desk you find yourself on, this workshop will leave you with ideas, insights, and best practices to take back to your office in order to bolster the work you do with students. Network with colleagues, hear from those who have spent time on both sides of the desk, and brainstorm ways in which you can make your work more effective.

The workshop will consist of several round table topics. Guests will rotate through all round tables giving you and your colleagues the opportunity to engage in conversations, share ideas, pose questions, and take-away some discoveries.  The program will begin at 9:00AM and end at 12:30PM (morning refreshments and lunch are included).

    Topics will include:

    • The School Profile – A Review from Both Sides of the Desk
    • Summer College Workshop/Camps for Rising Seniors
    • Encouraging Parent-Student Engagement in the College Conversation
    • Transfer Student Options – How To Increase Students Reception To This Pathway
    • Memorable, Worthwhile College Rep High School Visits

Confirmation details including parking directions will follow a week before the event.

On Thursday, April 11th, join the Government Relations Committee and your WACAC board in a ‘Day on the Hill.’  The event will last from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM with Advocacy Training starting at 9 AM.  During this time, you will hear about how best to speak with and advocate for our positions as a membership.  Following the ‘Advocacy Training’ you will have the opportunity to meet with your representatives.  [Do not worry, those meetings will be prearranged for you.]  During this time, all you have to do is share you experience and passion for secondary and post-secondary education.

Please direct any questions to John McGreal.

Welcome to the annual WACAC spring conference. This year’s theme, ‘Bridging the Divide’ will feature a number of professional conference sessions as well as a series of round-table discussions on some of the most pressing issues in the world of college admission.

We look forward to welcoming you when we gather in La Crosse at the Radisson Hotel on May 20-21, 2019. Registration for the conference is now open. You can also book your room at the Radisson from the registration page.

This year, conference raffle proceeds will go to benefit the IDEA Scholarship. The IDEA Scholarship awards low-income, first-generation students a $500 scholarship who are pursuing a degree at any WACAC member school. We ask for your generosity to help fuel this scholarship and to purchase raffle tickets for the conference. Prizes will be awarded to the raffle winners.
