Government Relations Committee

The Government Relations Committee works to keep the membership updated on government issues related to secondary and post-secondary education.  We work to establish connections with state and federal legislatures to advocate for our positions and beliefs.  The committee stays in contact with NACAC's Coordinator of Government Relations to aid our efforts and ensure ours are in line with the National Membership.

2023 Day on the Hill

We are working to arrange legislative meetings with members of the Wisconsin Legislature who serve on the education, college, and finance  committees in both chambers. We plan to discuss the following policy areas:

    • Access and affordability for post-secondary options
    • Increasing the Wisconsin Grant
    • **Counseling issues critical to YOUR district**
You can participate in two ways

Committee Recent Activity

The Government relations committee has recently sent out actions alerts to advocate at the state and federal level on the topics of DACA, the Federal Budget, and predatory actions by For-Profit colleges.  We are always working towards a day of lobbying with our state legislatures in Madison, WI.
