Admissions Practices Committee

The Admissions Practices Committee is responsible for educating WACAC membership and the college counseling community at large about the Code of Ethics and Professional Practices (CEPP) of NACAC, the National Association for College Admission Counseling’s guide to best practices.

Mission of Admissions Practices Committee

Educate counselors and college/universities on how to serve students and families in a way that is student-centered, promotes access to higher education, and adheres to a high ethical standard.

Expectations for Committee Members

  • Monitor trends in ethical practices, be well-versed in the Code of Ethics and Professional Practices, discuss strategies to educate membership, and implement educational programming. Members meet periodically, and committee chairs will also be expected to participate in WACAC and NACAC meetings and trainings as well.

  • Educate members about the ethical standards governing the admission profession and the importance of best admission practices, which could include such initiatives as webinars, conference presentations, newsletter articles, or presentations to schools.

  • Through communication and collaboration, serve as the primary resource for secondary and post-secondary admission professionals in the state of Wisconsin to inquire about ethical admission practices.
